I was bit by a dog when I was two years old, and it almost mauled my face. It almost killed and/or blinded me. I was this close to dying at two, which is terrible. I survived it, and there was no head trauma or anything like that. Honestly, it was a miracle. – Charlie Puth

It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them. John Grogan, American Author

People generally complain that they’re overburdened by responsibilities, forgetting that they chose to have those responsibilities. • Jo Montanee: Whomever raised him before that tragic death, he or she raised him so well. Tyson is a sweet, gentle, full of love. RIP the deceased owner.
  • Seymore Clearly: Rest in peace, dear Tyson. There are no bad dogs. Only bad owners. And I agree with other commenters here, a large dog like this should not have been adopted out to an apartment dweller. when I saw she lived in a place without a yard, I wanted to send her a message “You do know that it’s a commitment and the dog becomes your priority IF you’re a good pet owner…?”It’s cruel. Even when I lived in my own house with a yard, I was out with my dogs 5X a day (and yes, I work full-time!) walking them, meeting neighbors, getting them socialized. It made a HUGE difference in their development.
  • A. Fender: I am so frustrated to read that the new “forever” home for Tyson was only 3 months long and then Sara had him put down for “behavioral issues”. Many comments saying that that rescue tried to take him back….and I’m sure they did. I just don’t understand how she wasn’t forced to return Tyson. Most rescues have contracts that adopters sign that are pretty rock solid and those contracts state that the dog cannot be re-homed and must be brought back. Maybe the contracts don’t address murdering the dog because who would expect anyone to do that? Sounds like the contracts need to be amended to include that you cannot kill your adopted dog because you don’t like him anymore and that the dog must be returned to the rescue. Makes me nauseous. Tried to connect to the link for Instagram and it’s gone. Guess Sara started hearing from unhappy people and couldn’t take it. I don’t know her clearly but she doesn’t seem to be a very good person. Sad for the rescue that put so much into Tyson and sad for Tyson.
  • a: bro i was like “omg yeyyy hes gonna get a new homeeeeee” then when i read the comments i was so freaking heartbroken like 3 months after being adopted hes put down… “behavioral issues” he seemed like a very gentle and kind dog tho 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 rip tyson i hope hes in heaven with his original owner 🙁
  • Dyosa Zulueta: Reading about what happened to Tyson after the adoption makes me really angry. Here I am still don’t know how to move on from loosing my fur baby last month and there’s this monster who simply put him down due to ‘behavioural issues’! Seriously?! You murder dogs for behavioural issues?!
  • fashionista101model: when my mom died, her dog stayed right by her side until she was found. A dogs loyalty is unmatched. I’m glad Tyson has his new forever home. He deserves it.
  • Hendrika Sunqrout: today is 4th March 2022 and I watched this again and got upset all over again! READ THE COMMENT BEFORE YOU GET TOO HAPPY ABOUT THIS ADOPTION?!!! This woman had Tyson EUTHANIZED after three months!!!
  • Wade Smith: It sickens me to no end after reading what happened to this wonderful animal. And I agree…. TAKE THIS VIDEO DOWN! Or at least update the tragedy so that people like this CAN’T ever be allowed to adopt again.
I’m sure I speak for many: it wrenched my heart after the feel good ending… To then read comments on what happened in the short time he was with this so called awesome person who adopted him.
This world is sick and evil.
Again… TAKE DOWN THIS MISLEADING VIDEO!!!!!
  • IRONIC BIONIC: I was shocked when I read in the comments that the new owner had put Tyson down after only 3 months. Can’t understand why the rescue didn’t take him back. The video description should be updated to reflect what happened and make viewers aware. Delete that link to Tyson’s Incredible new life too! I guess MILLIONS of VIEWS are way more important! 🤬
  • kassard: R.I.P Tyson.
People really should be vetted before being allowed an animal.
  • Hello World: If we are saying we need more persons like this. Its wrong , we need to become like them. And see the change.
  • Kerry Bayton: I cried a little tear when tyson finally seemed like he had found someone who would help him overcome all that he had endured, imagine my horror when upon reading through the comments only to dicover that the woman he gave his heart to had him euthanised just a few months later, she did not return him to the shelter or even find him a new home.. My disgust at her actions cannot be adequately phrased in this comments section. I used to donate to the dodo & that has ended, if they cannot protect the animals they profess to care about i can no longer contribute, i urge all others to consider if their donation should go elsewhere. I’m quite broken hearted by this affair.
  • Steve Cutler: I love the moment you see the love sink in and life returns to their eyes and tail.
  • Ran Ma: “Funny because I have all this love in your heart for a dog but never totally feel prepared. And suddenly now I’m like, ‘I can do this.'”I had a bad feeling when I heard the adopter say this. It made her sound so inexperienced.

And then I read the comments and find out that she had Tyson euthanized just a few months after adopting him. She should have never been given this dog. 😕

Rest in peace, Tyson. You deserved better. 😢

  • Angela Hackworth: Oh I love it. Look at his reaction upon meeting his new Mommy!!! . My heart is happy now with a warm feeling!!!! ❤️. Thank you for a lovely video!!!
  • KCs Funhouse: It’s always heartbreaking when a pup mourns their owner. To them they just lost their entire world and they don’t understand why. Tyson is a beautiful pup too!
  • Nancy Patancy: Dogs are way smarter and have more emotional intelligence than we give them credit for. We should follow their cues when we are uncertain. Heck, even when we are sure.
  • Perfectly Imperfect: I’m Sooo glad that he found his forever home!!!! ❤️
  • Albert Beaney: He knew why he was there and he knew he was there to meet you Sarah. He knew you would provide him his new forever home. I couldn’t be more happy for you both!🙋🏻‍♂️
  • Dorothy Fullerton: Ah blessings 🙌 going out to all the Dodo guys for all the work they do for all the animals 🙏 😀
  • Connie Crawford: Bless all people who adopt animals or children!
  • Anna_ in_Aotearoa: Dodo team, you do such great work raising awareness… Please strongly consider either removing this vid, or updating it to show Tyson’s final fate and to highlight the need for compulsory return + non-euthanasia clauses in rescue adoption contracts? Multiple commenters have flagged the fact this adopter didn’t do right by Tyson, and if correct, this really needs to be addressed in amending your content. Thank you in advance!
  • kathy: I just lost my rescue dog she was my heart ❤️ thank God for my sis…2 weeks she decided it was time, walked into our shelter and asked for the oldest small dog. The sweetest 3.7lb Chichuahua and so tiny, fell sound asleep on my chest so to say the least PLEASE PLEASE ADOPT they love you more than you’ll ever know ❤️ 💗
  • D G: Massive yet sweet dog. Glad he found a great new home. He deserves it. I just read horrific news that I hope is not true- but suspect it is. I would have taken this dog in a heartbeat. There are no bad dogs- only evil owners.
  • Sayuri Slim: What a sweet soul. I’d take him in a heartbeat!! ♥️
  • Shiv2424: You can clearly see the sadness and depression on his face in the beginning. God Bless his soul.

  • Stephen Reese: Dogs know when they are safe and loved. Once they know where to sleep, when to eat and where they can safely eliminate, they settle into a relationship. I’m glad he was found and loved!
  • JG: I wish I hadn’t read the comments.. That woman killed him!!! It breaks my heart.. I love you Tyson. I hope you are at peace now.
  • Greg Campbell: Seems like a really good dog, glad he found a good home.
  • Tracey Ryche White: You can tell he has such a gentle soul. What a sweetie.
  • secretsquirrel: Thank you
    “Twenty Paws Rescue”.
Thanks to everyone that helped Tyson on his healing journey to his forever home.
  • Dorothy Fullerton: That’s is so sweet I am in tears watching 👀 this how lovely he greet the lady ❤
  • merejane: I haven’t read all the comments, but I hope I am not the only one who thinks this video should be taken off YouTube. It was a happy video, and then I started reading the comments and found about Tyson’s very sad end. I also wondered why he was not neutered by the rescue organization, even before he went into foster care. It seems as if this story did not need to end the way it did, and that humans — not the dog — are to blame. This makes me so angry. The rescue organization and the adopter should be ashamed of themselves. When Sarah met the dog, she said something about not thinking, before, that she was ready for a dog. Well, she should have listened to that inner voice and not adopted this poor dog, only to have him killed a few months later.
  • JR_Gotrocks: I really enjoy watching the tail wags at the end of these videos. It shows true, emotional transformation. Thank you for being a light during dark days.
  • Connie Stahl: I had lost my husband in 2015 to complications of diabetes . I decided to adopt a dog, I looked online for days, was just about to give up when I looked into the eyes of a dog who just lost her owner to C.O.P.D. I knew I had to adopt this dog, we both had lost important people in our life and we needed each other. This was five years ago and Pretty girl my dog is still with me today. Thank you for all you guys do for animals. Thank you
  • Joseph Smith: Wow shows there are still compassionate people still loving and giving…. Great Story
  • DameNickum: Me! I have to believe that supporting animal rescues and loving all our dogs helps.
  • Todd and Emy: Two things reveal a person’s character. How they treat the elderly, and how they treat animals.
  • Bamboo_ko: Hope Tyson now happily reunited with his previous owner after crossing the rainbow bridge😢Im rather glad he only stayed 3months with this ‘new mom’ In the country I currently live, dog shelters have more strict regulations and would never let this woman have such a large dog in her tiny looking apartment. RIP poor baby..x
  • Navigator Mother: He couldn’t be gentler. He’s one of those rare, incredibly self aware huge dogs who are really afraid of knocking things, or of being rough at all… so beautifully mannered right from the kick off. Very very sensitive and very very loving. He’s a joy and pleasure and a delight to grow old with.
  • Michael Waters: Great story Thankyou for sharing. Love and respect from Western Australia 🇦🇺 🙌❤️
  • LexHoaloha: Aww. Tyson is such a sweet boy. Beautiful to see him in his forever home!

  • Becky Swedblom: I want to save them all!! If only I could.💕♥️🥺
  • A Stoned White Widow: What a beautiful dog. I’d love to have a dog like this. What a sweetheart.
  • Robert W. Ellerby sr.: I was so happy for this beautiful animal. Also very glad that as an intact male, he wasn’t mutilated by “fixing” him. He was never broken! Good luck big guy…would like to see an update if possible.
  • BigDaddyJinx: I adopted a rescue pitbull-x two weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the big goober. We took to each other instantly. He was so well mannered and so chill and super affectionate. I bough him all brand new kit and took him for his first walk and first bath and he was adored everywhere we went. And I had to give him back after one whole day because it turns out I was wildly allergic to him. My skin was exploding. It was awful. Having to return him after that one day together broke my heart and I hated every moment of it. I couldn’t stop crying. I keep being told “It happens” but that doesn’t make it any easier.

Reading through some of these comments, the story seems to be that Tyson wasn’t with his new owner very long before being put down. If that’s the case, then that just sickens me. I had to surrender my new best friend after a day (man I would’ve LOVED 3 months like Tyson) and they put the dog down instead of surrendering it? Disgusting.

  • Shenna Carter: When he fell asleep in her lap and she just calmly petted him I melted into a little puddle. So wonderful to see him relaxed like that so easily. Truly meant to be!
  • chillininthedmv: I love that he found his new home and is loved! I am curious that the rescue didn’t neuter him though prior to adoption.
  • Julie Brown: Definitely a tear jerker. You are wonderful people!
  • Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 52: This is beautiful. The way the woman approached Tyson was perfect. She spoke with her actions. I saw her say you are safe just with her actions. A real dog wisper.
  • Joanna McPeak: Bless his little heart. So great that you got him a kiddie pool.
    We love you, Tyson!😍🥰

  • Anita Jonsson: Wow, they are a match made in Heaven! This story really touched my heart.
  • Gerard Boudreau: To see him so happy just trotting along just warms the heart and soul
  • Molly Molohon: What a great dog!!! He really did have a really bad ride down to find any kind of home after his family died. But luckily he managed to find a real home and meet his new owner, and he enjoyed the new life she gave him. 🤓

  • Rarity: When I started looking for a dog, I had no idea how hard it would be. I visited many shelters looking for the right fit for my family. Little did I know, that it would change my life! It turned out that I didn’t adopt my dog, my beautiful Bella adopted me! She was not the dog I was initially looking for, she has more energy than my 6yr old daughter, she chews everything up if left unsupervised including my new bedspread and seems to poo more than she eats! However I can’t imagine our family without her! She makes us laugh, she comforts me when my disability acts up, and she gives my daughter so much joy. luckily she is only 1 and will be with us for life! It’s definitely a learning experience but she picked us and I will give her the best life she can have! Trust me, when she tried to eat my bed, I had thought about taking her back, being disabled leaves me incapacitated at times. However I remembered that she was still just a puppy needing training and once I got her a crate and worked with her. Well I’m never letting our Bella go!
  • Dorothy Robdau: That’s so beautiful. Thank all of you for giving this wonderful dog a second chance, anyone can see he has a lot of life and love still to give.
