  • Revolution: I was recently injured trying to inspect this stray cat in my neighborhood. He is a friendly cat but I believe he is developing a skin condition and I was trying to look at it one day when he grabbed me and scratched and mouthed me pretty hard. He didnt bite, because I started to scream, so I think when he heard that he let go. He only did this because I think he’s sick and not feeling well. But its just a reminder of how you have to always be careful with animals, they can cause you injury when they are in pain themselves-not meaning you harm.

  • Miss Havisham: Lessons in cat rescuing:1. Wear protective gear (like elbow-high leather gloves).
    2. Always have the carrier very nearby.
    3. Repeating, “No, no no,” or “You’re okay,” or “We want to help you” doesn’t really cut it with cats.

  • David Perez: You are amazing..thank you so much NYC one ❤
  • Rob Johnson: I have a cat I got from the shelter. Very sweet and cuddly – snuggles up by my head at night when I’m lounging on the couch. But something must have happened to her before I got her. If you try to pick her up under the belly or by the scruff, she starts hissing and screaming and tries to bite/scratch, etc. This reaction takes about 3-4 seconds to happen. So I can pick her up off the floor and put her in my lap, or pick her up off a table and put her on the floor. But don’t try to walk around with her unless you want to become uncomfortably acquainted with the sharp ends. The funny thing is, if she’s laying down, I can pick up the blanket/pillow or whatever she’s laying on and move her around without issue. Sometimes I can even pick her up if I sort of surround her with my arms – kind of a hug/pickup. But do NOT try to pick her up under the belly. There’s all kinds of screaming and crying. And the cat isn’t happy about it either.
  • Kat: It’s always so great to watch these videos and see animals that you think would never be able to be adopted because of the way they act just turn into the most cuddly and friendliest ever with just a little TLC

  • Shinju Inoue: I hope he can make someone happy after his treatment is over and he relaxes💝
Though I’m a fervent fan of the HFP’s team for all they do and am a patron watching all the great work they do, there’s something that bothered me here is that he had to fight being rescued because at the beginning the rescuers took his condition lightly and didn’t think it was going to be difficult getting him picked up, but animals that are scared will do anything to escape and would do anything to escape whether injured or sick. So in this case, undo time and anxiety was caused when it wouldn’t have been if the rescuers had taken more precautions😰
  • Sharon Brown: Thanks for saving this baby
  • Carol-lee Lane: It took 6 months of feeding just outside the kitchen door to entice a friendly but outdoors-only cat that was no longer able to be cared for by our neighbor. He spent a Maine winter in the dog house rather than come inside. I thought he’d always be too skittish to tolerate the noises of indoor motors and heating fans. He now lives indoors very companionably with 2 dogs, another cat, and is the most affectionate cuddle-cat we’ve ever lived with. He goes out for fun, not fear, and runs indoors without hesitation. Sometimes all that’s needed is patience and kindliness for an animal to show the full range of their personality and capabilities.
  • NANCY WOOD: Kyle is definitely the cutest of them all !!!
  • Olga Nagaitseva: Давно, вас не было, по крайне мере у нас в России, молодцы ребята, здоровья Котофею и хороших, любящих хозяев😺
  • Cindy Reichelderfer: The whole team knows how to be patient with all the rescues they do glad no one was hurt
  • Anisha: When you are trying to blanket a cat, it is best to also cover the head right at the start. Cats tend to be less aggressive and reduces fear response if they are completely covered. Thank you for helping him <3
  • Esther van der Graft: Thank you! As good as you are with dogs, this was very clumpsy. ALLWAYS bring a crate or use a trap, and cover your arms, hands and legs. This is so stressfull for him.
  • Omri W: Well done!
  • Enduring 4 Heaven: I have rescued many stray cats and feral cats as well, nearing a hundred over the years. Not having gloves and a cage nearby, causes a cat 1) undue stress, which can lead to distrust and increased aggression, as well as a disease called Rhino. They also risked the cat running away, and potentially winding up in a worse situation, in which case I’m sure they wouldn’t post that video. Yes, they have done AMAZING work with all their rescues (that is why we are here, to support them), but keep in mind, that each rescue, is a life, and precautions must be taken at all times for the staff, as well as to minimize the stress of the animal. Nobody is above learning and improving in this lifetime!
  • Timi Kopacek: I am so thankful that there is a known treatment for Pillow Paw.
I had a cat years ago that suffered a great deal from it. In the end she needed to be euthanized. Now my youngest kitty has it and is being treated successfully with Doxycycline.
  • A MEN and his 7 kids: Thank you for what you do
  • Robin Campochiaro: I love cats and own 1 and hopefully getting approved to adopt another cat. I love HFP’s and I live in CT and donate every month.Come on people, it’s just 5 dollars a month, give up coffee money one day out of the month and give to a great cause. 🐱🐱🥰🥰💙💙❤❤
